ATBAS MISSION STATEMENT
Based in Dresden, we develop software that optimizes workflows in parts service, service and wheel warehouse management and thus simplifies the work of employees on site at the dealership. Our values are clear and characterize us at our core. 2021 – 2023 Challenges, opportunities and successes
Politically and health-wise, these years have been shaped by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected us all in different ways. Despite these challenges, we have evolved as a company and found new ways to offer our customers the best possible service.
On the product side, we have introduced some significant innovations. One of these is mobile goods receipt (ATBAS MWE), which is now available as a free app for all our ATBAS NET customers. This app makes the goods receipt process much easier and offers our customers an efficient and user-friendly solution.
In addition, we have developed an online learning system with demos especially for our ATBAS customers. This system enables our customers to familiarize themselves with our products and services and to expand their knowledge and skills.
Another major success was the acquisition of further BMW brand customers. This is a significant milestone for our company and proof of the quality of our products and services.
2020 Further products and digital transformation
Mobile wheel data collection (MDC) has been introduced and is enjoying increasing demand. From June 2020, ATBAS DEPOT will be expanded to include digital profile depth recording (DPE).
Mr. Gerd Singer took over the day-to-day operations completely as Managing Director at the beginning of 2020. The shareholders now have the necessary freedom to take the strategic work on the company to a new level. The digital transformation from the middle of the year will have a very lasting impact on all car dealerships. ATBAS is adapting the way it works and operates, bringing it closer to its customers. Like its support, sales and software solutions, ATBAS is also growing. The team now has 53 employees.
2019 New market with a new brand
A changed external image and personnel changes are the first steps in a strategic realignment. ATBAS is the contact for intelligent and high-quality software solutions and the best service in the car dealership. The “service and software from a single source” mentality represents an important competitive advantage and is to be communicated even more clearly through the logo change. The two cubes in the new logo symbolize the unity of support and software. In addition, the website has been renewed.
The company’s management work is further restructured and strengthened with Gerd Singer in the second half of the year. The development of the strategic orientation in the BMW market is very successfully confirmed by companies such as AHG and Mulfinger, which use ATBAS. The aim is to become even “broader” in the market.
2018 ATBAS continues to grow
ATBAS NET has been successfully introduced at PORSCHE plants. The product change from ATBAS CLASSIC to ATBAS NET is recommended by PORSCHE and has already been implemented at 23 customers. ATBAS DEPOT CONNECT was successfully piloted and the ATBAS MDE (mobile data collection) was completed for piloting. Cooperation agreements are concluded with SCREEN GmbH and 4WHEELS® SERVICES GmbH.
ATBAS presents its products at the Porsche After Sales Sales Workshops, the Porsche After Sales Conference and THE TIRE COLOGNE tire trade fair. 200 customers already work with the ATBAS DEPOT storage manager. To implement all this, ATBAS now has a team of 42 employees.
1,000 customers strong in 2017
Now 36 employees celebrate the installation of the 1,000th customer, Assenheimer + Mulfinger GmbH & Co KG. For the first time, ATBAS takes part in a Mercedes-Benz service partner conference so that even more Mercedes dealerships can benefit from the added value of ATBAS products. The first car dealerships were successfully migrated from ATBAS CLASSIC to ATBAS NET. The 4WHEELS interface is extended to include test reports and ATBAS NET is extended to include key account management.
ATBAS is developing an interface for controlling vertical lift and paternoster systems from Hänel GmbH & Co. KG, which is already being used by contract partners of the PORSCHE, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz brands. The development of the central wheel storage system (DEPOT CONNECT) has been completed and will go into operation at the beginning of 2018.
2015 – 2016 Restructuring
ATBAS expands its offices and the new sales management team starts work. The ATBAS DEPOT software for optimal storage is launched on the market. To expand the interface portfolio, ATBAS enters into cooperation with the company ASC and is thus able to implement the interface to DMS CARE.
New interfaces to the DMS Alpha+ and the wheel storage system 4WHEELS are created. The first ATBAS NET installation is carried out at a BMW dealership. The ATBAS DEPOT storage software is expanded to include multi-client capability and enables centralized storage. ATBAS DEPOT can be used regardless of brand and has been successfully installed at the Ford, Volvo and Landrover brands.
2012 – 2014 Further installations
In 2013, ATBAS takes part in the Porsche Germany after-sales conference for the first time. The ATBAS software is installed in 9 Porsche dealerships and the Porsche Center Berlin becomes part of the customer base.
This is the 10th installation at Mercedes-Benz with our new flagship ATBAS NET. In order to be able to offer our now more than 800 customers even better service in the future, a restructuring is in the offing.
2007 – 2011 The product range grows
Meanwhile, the ATBAS software uses the DMS backbone interface in car dealerships of the VW Group and therefore works even more efficiently. The WPS scheduling interface and WPS interface for wheel storage have also been added. The newly completed ATBAS SCAN software is launched.
Further software modules follow, including partner ordering, which realizes the sale of overstocked parts at partner companies. The ATBAS software is installed in the first Porsche Center and Mercedes dealership and receives certification at the Audi Test Center. This is the birth of ATBAS NET.
2006 New, strong management team
Several car dealerships are already using the ATBAS software. In the course of a change of name to GmbH & Co KG, two further shareholders join the company to take care of development and sales. The first two employees are hired in the same year.
2001 Company foundation
The self-developed program has added a lot of functions and is already having an impact in terms of time savings and efficiency. Other car dealerships also show interest in the software. The sales idea was born and in 2001 the company ATBAS OHG was founded.
1995 History of origin
A parts service manager at a Volkswagen dealership in Dresden realized that he was spending a lot of valuable time answering questions from all departments in the dealership. He was convinced that time-consuming searches for parts information, tedious picking processes and many other time-consuming and cost-intensive tasks in the dealership could be optimized to the benefit of all employees and colleagues. This gave him the idea of developing a program that would enable every employee in the dealership to quickly and easily answer questions about spare parts, stocks and availability themselves.
He initially developed an Access tool for himself to make his work easier, into which he entered all the relevant information. Thanks to ideas and suggestions from colleagues, the program grew steadily and quickly became an indispensable aid. The foundation stone of the ATBAS software is laid. The name ATBAS stands for: Auto Parts Order Processing System.
